Ordination Pathway in the Odinsberg Tribe
The Odinsberg Tribe’s ordination process honors those called to embody Norse Dual-Faith and lead with integrity in our syncretic tradition.
Currently, we are not accepting applications for ordination. However, we outline our basic requirements for future candidates.
Ordination Requirements
Folkholder Status
Candidates must hold Folkholder status within the Odinsberg Tribe for at least six months, deepening their engagement with our values, traditions, and community.
Educational Credentials
Candidates must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution or a credential from a vocational college, reflecting our commitment to intellectual maturity in spiritual leaders.
Lay Membership and Mentorship
Candidates must have a minimum of four years of lay membership in a Christian denomination or Heathenry, under the guidance of a recognized minister or Gothi. Verification of active participation and mentorship is required.
Reflective Writings
-
Kindred Deacon: A written reflection on theological insights gained under Christian or Heathen mentorship.
-
Gothi-Prestr: A written account of the candidate’s journey to Norse Dual-Faith, including their understanding and vision of this synthesis.
Approval by the Tribal Council
Final ordination approval is granted through a formal vote by the Odinsberg Tribal Council at the Althing, ensuring the candidate’s alignment with our mission and values.
Future Opportunities
While ordination applications are currently closed, we encourage Folkholders to engage deeply with our community, values, and traditions to prepare for future ordination opportunities. We will reopen the pathway to those whose commitment and qualifications reflect the responsibilities of ordained leadership within the Odinsberg Tribe.
